Women’s Basketball: Huskers Win, Jays Fall

In women’s college basketball yesterday, Nebraska won big at No. 20 Maryland. The Huskers pounded the Terrapins 90-67 in the Big Ten opener. 

Humphrey’s Allison Weidner collected her first career double-double.  She scored all 13 of her points in the second half and grabbed a career-best 15 rebounds, helping NU improve to 6-3. 

Nebraska hosts Wisconsin on Wednesday night. 

Also on Sunday, the 13th-ranked Creighton women fell at St. John’s 66-62.  The Bluejays are 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big East. 

CU entertains Drake on Saturday.
