COLUMBUS- The potential for improved travel across Howard Boulevard in Columbus is a real possibility in the future.

That’s one of the topics community leaders and staff will examine as the City begins the process of implementing a Safe Streets and Roads for All planning grant. A U.S. Department of Transportation initiative, SS4A is a grant program to fund regional, local and Tribal efforts to prevent roadway deaths and injuries through safety planning. The City applied for and was awarded a $400,000 grant. As part of the program, the City was required to match $100,000, to bring the total project cost to $500,000.

As part of the process, the City will review 8th Street; 13th and 14th Streets; Howard Boulevard and 33rd Avenue.
