Whipple Named NU’s OC, Raiola to Coach O-Line

Nebraska football coach Scott Frost announced the addition of two offensive assistants today.  Mark Whipple has been hired as the Huskers’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, while Donovan Raiola will serve as the offensive line coach.

Frost noted that Whipple has four decades of coaching experience and brings a long record of success to NU.  He joins the Huskers after three seasons in the same role at Pitt. Whipple directed an explosive Panther offense that helped Pitt to its first ACC Championship this season, earning a trip to the Peach Bowl. He also spent 21 years as a college head coach and six seasons as an assistant coach in the NFL.

Raiola spent the past four seasons as an assistant offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears.  He also has four years of collegiate coaching experience.  Raiola is the younger brother of Dominic Raiola, an All-America center and Rimington Trophy winner for the Huskers.
