Two Columbus Boys Swimming Relay Teams Make State

Columbus High’s swimming and diving team competed at the HAC championships in Fremont Friday and Saturday.

The Discoverers girls finished 11th, while the boys were 12th out of a dozen teams.  But, two boys relay teams, the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relay, qualified for state.

While the individuals who made state won’t be known until Tuesday, Nathaniel Navarette may qualify after finishing seventh in 1-meter diving.  Conor Zobel-Stevens made secondary time in the boys 100 butterfly.  And Coach Joe Krepel says Mary Faltys “has a real chance” to reach state in the 100 breaststroke.
