Three former Nebraska football players were drafted by USFL teams this week.  Freedom Akinmoladun, Kieron Williams and Josh Banderas were each selected in the two-day draft that concluded yesterday.

Akinmoladun, who was a defensive lineman at NU from 2015 to 2018, was taken in the second round by the Philadelphia Stars.  Williams, who played in the Huskers’ defensive secondary from 2014 to 2017, was picked in the 19th round by the Michigan Panthers.  Banderas, who played linebacker in Lincoln from 2013 to 2016, went to Philadelphia in the 21st round.

The re-booted USFL opens its season on April 16th.
