Clarkson/Leigh swept Howells-Dodge in the state volleyball tournament last night. 

The Patriots, seeded fourth in C2, defeated the number 5 seed Jaguars 25-17, 30-28, 25-17.  Clarkson/Leigh advanced to today’s semifinals with a 22-7 record, while the Jags’ season ended at 25-5. 

Also in C2, Centennial’s season ended at 22-12 when the Broncos fell to top-seeded Lutheran High Northeast in three sets.  In the D1 quarterfinals yesterday afternoon, number two seed BDS beat Hartington Cedar Catholic 3-1. 

Earlier on Thursday, Humphrey St. Francis and Nebraska Christian were both ousted from the tourney in the D2 quarterfinals.  The Flyers were downed by Sacred Heart and the Eagles fell to top seed Diller-Odell.  St. Francis wound up 26-3, while Nebraska Christian ended at 18-9. 

Four semifinals will be broadcast today.  BDS meets Archbishop Bergan at approximately 10:30 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.  Two matches will be aired at 2 p.m.  Lakeview faces C1 number one seed Wahoo on KLIR 101, while Clarkson/Leigh battles top-seeded Lutheran High Northeast on the Hawk.  Around 3:30 p.m., St. Paul takes on Lincoln Lutheran in C1 action on 93.5 FM.
