Soccer: Two CU Men, One Women Earn Weekly Honors

A pair of Creighton men’s soccer players and one member of the CU women’s soccer team have earned Big East weekly honors.

Duncan McGuire claimed the league’s offensive player of the week, while Mark O’Neill was tabbed the top defensive player, following CU’s 2-0 start to the season.  McGuire scored five goals and had one assist to lead the nation with 11 points.  O’Neill anchored the Bluejays’ back line in a 6-0 win over Oakland and a 6-1 victory over Rutgers.

On the women’s side, Keelen Terrell collected Goalkeeper of the Week honors.  She had two saves in Creighton’s 2-1 victory over Kansas City and ended the weekend with five saves in a scoreless draw against Iowa State.
