Shelley, Potts Collect Big Ten Weekly Accolades

Nebraska women’s basketball players Jaz Shelley and Natalie Potts claimed Big Ten weekly honors yesterday.

Shelley earned the first Big Ten Player-of-the-Week award of her career.  The guard from Australia had 23 points, including Nebraska’s final seven points, in the 82-79 come-from-behind victory over Iowa on Sunday.  She also had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in a 65-59 win at Michigan last week.

Potts picked up her sixth conference Freshman-of-the-Week award.  She averaged 13 points and 4.5 rebounds in the two wins.

NU is back on the road tomorrow to play Ohio State.  The Buckeyes have replaced Iowa as the No. 2 women’s team in the nation.
