Scotus Boys Basketball Ends Skid With Win at Lakeview

The Scotus boys basketball team probably couldn’t have hoped for a better way to snap a nine-game losing streak.

The Shamrocks pulled away in the fourth quarter at rival Lakeview on Saturday, beating the Vikings 49-36.  The contest was tied at 33-all heading into the final period.

Scotus picked up its first win since January 2nd at St. Paul, while Lakeview lost for the sixth time in its last seven games.  Both teams now have 7-13 records.  The Shamrocks are 2-0 this season vs. their crosstown rivals, having downed the Vikings 49-34 in the Columbus Holiday Tournament championship on December 30th.

The ‘Rocks wrap up their regular season with a home game Friday against another rival, Aquinas.  Two tilts remain for the Vikings: a trip to Milford Monday and a home game against Central City on Friday.
