Reimer on Hausmann: “He’s a Beast”

“He’s a beast.”  That’s how Nebraska junior Luke Reimer described fellow linebacker Ernest Hausmann yesterday to the media.

Reimer’s assessment came after the freshman from Columbus made his first start in Saturday’s win over North Dakota.  “As a true freshman coming in and playing like how he played was impressive,” Reimer said.  “He knows his stuff extremely well and he’s a really athletically gifted player.  He played really well.”

Nebraska running back Anthony Grant was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week yesterday.  Grant rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns in the Huskers’ 38-17 win.  The Buford, Georgia native is the first Husker to earn player of the week honors since 2018.  Grant, who rushed for 101 yards against Northwestern, is the first NU running back to post consecutive 100-yard games since Devine Ozigbo in 2018.

Nebraska hosts Georgia Southern Saturday night.  Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.
