Prep Basketball Openers: Lakeview Girls Get Lone Win

The high school basketball season got underway last night and only one of six local teams recorded a win. 

Maddi Vogt scored a game-high 12 points to help the Lakeview girls post a 40-25 victory at Crete.  The Vikings boys fell to the Cardinals 62-40. 

Columbus High’s basketball teams lost at tournament host Omaha Westside.  The Discoverers boys were pounded 89-30, while the girls dropped a 58-48 decision despite 14 points from Addie Kudron. 

The Scotus boys fell at Hastings St. Cecilia 46-28, while the Shamrocks girls were edged 30-27.
