Lindsay Man Injured In Collision With Semi

LINDSAY- On Thursday at 8:01 am, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi-car collision on Highway 91 just west of 475th Ave west of Lindsay.

The investigation revealed that a semi pulling a livestock trailer loaded with cattle was attempting to turn eastbound onto Highway 91. As the semi was turning east onto the highway, an SUV traveling westbound on Highway 91 collided with the cattle trailer. The driver of the semi, 81-year-old Gary Johnston, of Lindsay, was not injured in the collision. The driver of the SUV, 48-year-old Cory Groenke, of Lindsay, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

A heavy fog is believed to have contributed to the collision.
