Lakeview’s American Legion baseball teams split their home openers against Arlington last night.
The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors cruised to a 9-1 win at Pawnee Park’s Legion Field. Bohden Jedlicka pitched a six-inning complete game, allowing one unearned run on five hits. He did not issue a walk and notched seven strikeouts. The Seniors upped their record to 3-1.
Meanwhile, the Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds suffered a 20-8 loss in four innings. Arlington led 7-6 after two innings before erupting for 10 runs in the top of the third. The Junior Reds committed four errors, leading to nine unearned runs in the game, as they slipped to 1-2 on the season.
Lakeview’s teams play at David City tonight.
