Lakeview Seniors Will Meet Waverly in State Tournament Opener

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors learned last night that Waverly will be their first round opponent Saturday in the Senior Legion Class B state tournament.
Waverly beat Omaha Roncalli 12-9 in the rain-delayed B2 area title game last night to advance to the state tourney in Broken Bow. First pitch of Lakeview’s game against Waverly Saturday is set for 9 a.m.
Shelby-Osceola-Stromsburg has made the Class C senior state tournament. SOS scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat Wood River 8-0 in the C5 area title game last night. SOS will take on Pender Saturday at Noon in the first state tourney game of the day in Wisner. Palmer-Wohlbach-Greeley fell to Battle Creek 9-1 in the C1 area championship.
