Junior Blues Win Twice, Cornerstone Seniors Drop Pair

The Columbus United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues put the brakes on a four-game losing skid last night.  The Blues swept a home doubleheader against Norfolk. 

In the opening game, the Juniors rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth to post a 7-6 victory.  Trevor Schumacher pitched two-and-a-third innings of relief and got the win.  Yurisky Rivera and Jacob Wagoner each drove in two runs for the Blues. 

In the nightcap, Columbus scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-1 lead en route to a 7-3 win.  Blues starter Bohden Jedlicka got the win and Colby Salak posted the save.  Jaden Williams had two RBI as the Junior Blues improved to 9-15. 

Meantime, the Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors were swept in a twinbill at Norfolk.  Columbus dropped the opener 6-3 and was downed 11-3 in the second game.  Cornerstone is now 11-14.
