Huskers Football Lands Edge Rusher on Signing Day

The Nebraska football team’s additions on signing day Wednesday included Keona Wilhite.

The edge rusher from a high school in Tucson, Arizona was looking to play college football out west, before coaching moves at UCLA and Washington helped him to decide to commit to NU.  Coach Matt Rhule is happy to have the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder.

“He’s exactly the type of person we’re looking for,” Rhule said.  “On the football field, he’s big, strong, athletic, physical.  He’s going to be a huge man with great athleticism.  Off the field: great family, great character.”

Rhule also praised the Huskers walk-on class.  And he said Marcus Satterfield will continue to call the plays for Nebraska’s offense despite new quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas also having the title of co-offensive coordinator.
