Husker Baseball’s Season Ends as Razorbacks Rally

Nebraska’s baseball season ended in a 6-2 loss to Arkansas in the Fayetteville Regional final last night. 

The Huskers jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Razorbacks closer Kevin Kopps threw seven innings of scoreless relief.  The game was tied at 2-2 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, when Arkansas rallied for four runs, capped off by a pinch-hit, three-run homer. 

With the loss, NU wound up with a 34-14 record.  Number-one national seed and top-ranked Arkansas is 49-11.  The Razorbacks will host NC State in a super regional this weekend. 

Other clubs moving on to super regionals last night: LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Dallas Baptist and Cinderella South Florida, which was a number-4 seed in regional play.
