Four Cornerstone Pitchers Combine on Four-Hit Shutout

Four pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors defeated Lincoln Northwest 2-0 yesterday at Pawnee Park Field. 

Wyatt Swanson pitched the first three innings, allowing just one hit.  Keiton Watchorn gave up a hit in two innings of relief, while Quenton Gustafson and Seth Brandl each surrendered one hit in one inning apiece.  With the win, the Seniors improved to 5-3. 

The OneUnited Federal Credit Union Junior Blues suffered an 8-2 home loss to Lincoln North Star on Sunday evening.  The Juniors’ third straight defeat dropped their record to 1-3. 

Lakeview’s American Legion baseball teams will be in action at Pawnee Park tonight against Tekamah-Herman.  First pitch for the juniors’ contest is at 5:30 with the seniors’ game slated for 8 p.m.
