GRAND ISLAND- Four schools in Grand Island are currently on lock down while police search for a man who stabbed a dog in the area.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 7:00 a.m., 30-year-old Shane Brethour threatened a person and stabbed a dog 2 blocks from Trinity Lutheran Schools. Trinity Lutheran was placed on lock down for a short time but has since been cleared to resume regular activities. Lincoln, Howard, Jefferson and Knickrehm elementary schools have all been placed on lock down until further notice. GIPD says they are currently trying to locate Brethour. According to the Grand Island Public Schools twitter account, staff will be at school doors allowing students into the building.

No parents will be allowed to enter the schools at this time.
