Discoverers Softball Drops Doubleheader at Fremont
After being postponed by rain last Thursday at Kearney and then having its home invite canceled on Saturday, the Columbus High softball team was back in action last night.
The Discoverers were swept in a doubleheader at Fremont, falling to the Tigers 7-5 in the opener and 9-1 in the nightcap. In the first game, Fremont had a big first inning to take a 5-0 lead. In the second contest, CHS scored a first inning run but Fremont hit three homers and tallied the final nine runs of the game. The Discoverers slipped to 5-14.
Columbus will host Lincoln Southeast in a twinbill on Thursday at 5 p.m. It will be Senior Night at Bradshaw Park.
