CU Dealing With COVID-19, Pulls Out of Crossover Classic

The Creighton men’s basketball team has withdrawn from its season-opening games next week due to COVID-19. 

CU says following multiple positive COVID-19 test results to Tier 1 individuals within its program, the Bluejays will not play in the Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The NCAA identifies potential Tier 1 individuals as student-athletes, coaches, and other staff or officials. 

On their schedule just released yesterday, the Jays had been set to open their season next Wednesday night against South Dakota State.  CU would have also played games in the event next Thursday and Friday. 

Creighton says a decision on safely resuming team activities will be made in coming days following additional discussions and testing.
