Cornerstone Swept by North Platte, Junior Blues Win Pair

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors were swept by North Platte in a doubleheader yesterday at Pawnee Park Legion Field. 

Cornerstone was thumped 18-3 in the opening game, then dropped a 9-7 decision in the second contest.  The Seniors will take a 7-6 record into a tournament in South Dakota that begins Friday. 

In North Platte yesterday, the OneUnited Federal Credit Union Junior Blues swept a twinbill.  The Junior Blues scored 16 runs over the final three innings to come out on top of an 18-3 score.  Carter Renteria went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs.  Stewie Kudron was 3-for-4 with three RBI and scored twice.  Collin Rausch scored four runs.  In the nightcap, the Juniors snapped a 2-all tie with four runs in the top of the sixth and won 7-3. 

OneUnited is 3-6 and will face Lincoln Christian in a doubleheader on Sunday.
