Cornerstone Downed by Lincoln Pius in League Championship

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors fell to Lincoln Pius 10-2 in the Cornhusker League Championship yesterday at Pawnee Park Field.
Pius scored two runs in the top of the first inning and seized control with four more in the third. Cornerstone was held to three hits in the loss, which snapped a six-game winning streak.
Columbus will take an 18-7 record into the A6 senior area tournament. In that bracket, released yesterday afternoon, Cornerstone is the No. 4 seed and will meet the host team, fifth-seeded South Sioux City Friday at 8 p.m.
