Columbus High Boys Bowling Claims State Team Title
Columbus High is the Class A boys state bowling champion.
The Discoverers won the team title yesterday at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln. No. 1 seed Columbus beat eighth-seeded Bellevue East 3-0 in the first round. The Discoverers then defeated No. 5 seed Fremont 3-1. A 3-0 victory over second-seeded Papillion-La Vista South put CHS into the finals.
No. 4 seed Lincoln Pius X, which had lost to Fremont in the opening round, beat Columbus 3-1 to force a second championship match. The Discoverers got by the Thunderbolts 3-2 to win the team title.
