Columbus’ American Legion Baseball Clubs Fall at Kearney

Playing on the road for the first time this season, both Columbus American Legion baseball teams fell at Kearney last night.

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors rallied for single runs in the top of the sixth and seventh to tie the game at 2-all.  But Kearney scored in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 3-2 walk-off victory.  The loss snapped Cornerstone’s three-game winning streak and left the Seniors at 3-3.

In the Juniors game, Kearney scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take a 5-1 lead en route to a 6-3 win.  With the defeat, the OneUnited Credit Union Junior Blues are now 1-1.

Both Columbus clubs visit Norfolk this evening.
