CHS Track and Field Team Opens Season Saturday

Columbus High’s track and field will open its season in a meet at Concordia University on Saturday.
Coach Scott Bethune says both the girls and boys teams return five state qualifiers from last season. On the girls squad, that includes Elizabeth Wemhoff who won two individual medals at state, including silver in the 200-meter dash.
The experienced core of the boys team includes three-year letterwinner Dylan Crumley and Heath Dahlke who was a member of the Discoverers state medal-winning 1,600 relay team last spring. Bethune said the boys squad also has a solid group of young athletes and he looks forward to seeing some breakout performances this season.
