CHS Softball Team Sweeps Twinbill vs. Links

After a slow start to its season, the Columbus High softball team stayed hot with a doubleheader sweep at home last night.

The Discoverers pounded Lincoln High by scores of 10-0 and 16-5 at Gerard Park.

Rylee Renner pitched the shutout, allowing just two hits and no walks in four innings, while striking out seven.  She was also one of five CHS players who scored two runs apiece in the first game.

In the nightcap, the Links scored four runs in the top of the first, but Columbus responded with 11 runs in their first at-bat.  Becca Hazlet went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs.

After losing their first six games, the Discoverers have reeled off four straight wins.

They visit Papillion-La Vista South tomorrow.
