CHS Opens Playoffs at Home, Eight-Man Football Brackets Out
Columbus High’s football team was seeded 13th in the Class A state playoffs by a seeding committee over the weekend.
The Discoverers will host number-20 seed Papillion-La Vista in the first round this Friday. The game will have a 3 p.m. kickoff at Pawnee Park’s Memorial Field, with the Lakeview-Scotus regular season finale there to start at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be aired on KLIR 101.
The brackets were also released for the eight-man football playoffs that begin Thursday. D1 games involving area teams include Clarkson/Leigh at Cross County, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family hosting Lourdes Central Catholic, Howells-Dodge entertaining GACC and Nebraska Christian welcoming Hemingford.
In D2, Humphrey St. Francis hosts Niobrara/Verdigre, Osceola entertains Pender, Fullerton visits Falls City Sacred Heart and Riverside hosts Ansley-Litchfield.
