Columbus Girls Win, Boys Lose in HAC Hoops Tournament

The Columbus High girls rallied for a win, while the Discoverers boys lost in yesterday’s opening round of the HAC basketball tournament. 

In the girls game, Carly Gaedeke scored a game-high 21 points leading Columbus to a 54-46 victory at Lincoln North Star.  The Discoverers trailed 30-15 at the half, but outscored the Navigators 39-16 after the break.  CHS improved to 4-3 and will play at No. 1 seed Lincoln Pius X today at 2:00 p.m. 

The Columbus boys fell at Pius 83-55.  The Discoverers are 2-5 following their third straight loss.  CHS will host Norfolk today at 3:00 p.m. in a consolation game.
