Chinander: New Defenders Just Need to “Go Hard” Now

The Nebraska football team began its second week of spring practice yesterday.  Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said his unit worked on third down defense on Monday.

Chinander said some freshman and transfer players are behind the returning Huskers.

“Those guys are a little bit behind as far as schematic stuff.” Chinander said.  “I want to see them go hard and not be afraid to make mistakes right now.  So, they have a little bit of catching up to do, but we’ll get there.”

NU will continue spring practice tomorrow.  The annual red-white spring game is set for April 9th at 1 p.m.
