Sophomore Leigha Brown of Nebraska women’s basketball has been named the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year.

Brown led the Huskers in scoring with 14.2 points per game while coming off the bench in all 29 regular season contests.  She ranked 12th in the league in scoring and was the only non-starter to rank among the Big Ten’s top 25.

Brown was joined as an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten pick by junior Kate Cain, who was voted to the league’s All-Defensive Team.
