Boys Golf: Kuhlman Wins District Title, Other Results

Brock Kuhlman won a district title yesterday and was nearly joined by his Columbus High boys golf teammates in qualifying for next week’s state tournament.

Kuhlman fired a 71 at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln to win the A-2 district tourney.  As a team, CHS was fourth with a score of 323, one shot away from forcing a team playoff with Millard West to go to state.  That tournament is set for next Tuesday and Wednesday at Norfolk Country Club.

In yesterday’s B-2 district at Wayne, Schuyler placed sixth and Lakeview was eighth, with no Warriors or Vikings making it to state.  Jack Lubischer of Humphrey St. Francis won the D-2 district title by shooting a 78 at Steepleview Golf Course.  He’ll be joined at next week’s state tourney in North Platte by Shelby Rising-City, which qualified as a team by finishing third.  Other individual qualifiers included Kirby Smith and Isaak Norman of Fullerton and Brady Lund of Howells-Dodge.
