The Nebraska high school boys basketball coach with the most wins in history is reportedly retiring.  The Omaha World-Herald reports that Wisner-Pilger coach Duane Mendlik will end his 47-year career with 694 victories.

He began his career at West Point Central Catholic, compiling 512 wins in 35 seasons through 2006. Mendlik spent two years as an assistant at Wisner-Pilger before registering his final 182 wins as the Gators head coach over the past 12 seasons.

The Dodge High graduate was inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
