Bell, Beard Pitch Columbus To Pair of Wins

Columbus High’s baseball team went 2-0 in Lincoln on Saturday. The Discoverers defeated Lincoln North Star 3-1 and beat Lincoln High 5-1.
In the first game, Tadan Bell carried a shutout into the seventh inning. He wound up allowing one earned run on seven hits and a walk, while striking out 13 batters in his complete game.
In the win over the Links, Brent Beard tossed five scoreless innings to help Columbus improve to 8-7.
The Discoverers host Lincoln Southwest today. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
