Alexander Wins Weekly Honor, Latest Rankings For Jays

Creighton’s Trey Alexander was named Monday Big East Player of the Week.
It was the second time Alexander won the award this season. He averaged 25.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game to help the Bluejays pick up victories over Xavier and DePaul last week.
The Jays moved up four spots to No. 13 in the AP Poll. CU is also ranked 13th in the USA Today coaches poll and NET rankings. The Bluejays will host Butler Friday at 8 p.m. on FS1.
The Creighton women’s basketball team is No. 22 in the latest AP Top 25. The Bluejays won a pair of hard-fought victories last week to improve to 16-3, 7-2 in the Big East. CU is No. 25 in the NET women’s rankings.
