Zegarowski Out for Tourney, Adds Another Honor
Creighton guard Marcus Zegarowski has now been ruled out to play in the Big East Tournament.
The sophomore will have arthroscopic surgery this week for a meniscus injury to his right knee. The Bluejays hope he’ll be available to play in the NCAA tournament.
Zegarowski averages better than 16 points per game and leads the team with five assists a contest. He was named a Second Team All-American by NBC Sports yesterday, after being tabbed to the All-Big East second team on Sunday.
Also on Tuesday, Coach Greg McDermott and Ty-Shon Alexander were honored with all-district accolades by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
CU is the top seed in the Big East tourney and will play tomorrow at 11 a.m. against the winner of tonight’s tilt between Georgetown and St. John’s.
