Weekend Soccer: Scotus Girls Go 2-0, CHS Clubs Fall

In prep soccer this weekend, the Scotus girls went 2-0 at the Thomas Jefferson tournament in Council Bluffs.
The Shamrocks defeated Bishop Heelan 1-0 and then topped another Iowa school, Van Meter, 3-1. Scotus has won six straight matches and is now 7-2. The Scotus girls and boys teams will play at Grand Island Northwest today.
The Columbus High girls fell at Lincoln East 2-1 on Saturday. The Discoverers’ third straight loss dropped their record to 6-3. The Columbus boys are 6-2 after being edged by Lincoln East 1-0 in a shootout at home last Friday.
Both Columbus clubs will visit Lincoln North Star tomorrow.
