Creighton baseball’s Parker Upton was nationally recognized today.

Upton was selected as a Second-Team Preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.  The Bluejays senior was the lone choice from the Big East conference.

As an outfielder last season, Upton had CU’s second-best batting average at .324 and led the Jays with 65 runs.  He ranked third on Creighton’s 2019 NCAA Tournament team in both home runs, with 10, and stolen bases, with nine.

This season Upton is moving to shortstop, the position at which he was chosen for today’s honor.
