Former Husker Dan Pensick of Columbus Died Thursday

Former Nebraska defensive tackle Dan Pensick of Columbus died Thursday at his home.

A report says Pensick, who was a three-year letter winner at NU from 1977-1979, passed away from pancreatic cancer.

The 65-year old Pensick died just over a year after his son, Cole Pensick, was killed at age 32 in a car accident in Polk County.  Cole Pensick had been a standout offensive lineman for the Huskers, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in his senior season in 2013.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dan Pensick is next Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church.  Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. next Tuesday, with a vigil service at 6 p.m.
