Scotus, Aquinas Boys Golf Teams Make State Tourney

The Scotus boys golf club qualified as a team for next week’s state tournament. The Shamrocks finished second in yesterday’s C-2 district golf tournament at Oakland Country Club.
Scotus posted a team score of 329, two strokes behind district champion Oakland-Craig. Aquinas also made state by carding a team score of 331 and finishing third. Scotus was led by freshman Nick Fleming, whose 72 was good for second place. Tylen Jakub paced the Monarchs with a 76 to finish fifth. North Bend Central’s Connor Schlueter qualified for state as an individual after firing a 74 and earning fourth.
The Class C state tourney is set for next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Kearney Country Club.
