Scores of Girls Subdistrict Finals, District Final Matchups
Last night’s girls basketball subdistricts are in the books and the matchups for next Friday’s district finals are set.
Scotus fell at North Bend Central 43-24. The loss ended the Shamrocks season at 15-8. Scotus finished 16th in the C1 wild card points, but three teams with lower point totals jumped the ‘Rocks into district finals by winning subdistrict finals. The Tigers are the No. 10 seed and will meet No. 7 Gothenburg in a district final.
Clarkson/Leigh knocked off Cross County 46-42. The 16-6 Patriots earned the 10th seed in C2 and will face Hastings St. Cecilia. The Cougars at 22-3 are the No. 5 seed and will host Superior.
High Plains beat Nebraska Lutheran 50-42. The Storm is seeded 12th in D2 and meets Sandhills/Thedford. Humphrey St. Francis, which upset Howells-Dodge in the D2 semifinals, fell at Wynot 45-25 last night. But, the Flyers and Jaguars are both in district finals – the No. 9 Flyers visit Shelton and the fourth-seeded Jaguars host Parkview Christian.
