Satterfield Says QB Sims is “Poised to Have a Breakout Year”

With the opening of Nebraska football’s fall camp set for next Monday, offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield was a guest on Monday’s Sports Nightly.

He said he remembers being impressed by junior quarterback Jeff Sims when he played as a true freshman for Georgia Tech.  “I think his athletic traits are off the charts,” Satterfield said. “I think his arm talent is really high-level.  I think that he’s poised to have a breakout year.”

Satterfield called the Husker offensive line the “hardest working group on the team.”  He said the receivers “need to show up quick (in fall camp) and establish their roles on offense.”  He’s excited that NU has different types of running backs, noting “you need to have a stable of running backs today, especially in the Big Ten.”  And Satterfield said tight ends are the least experienced group, but “could be the most talented.”
