Prep Spring Sports Season Effectively Canceled

Whatever slim hopes of a spring sports season for Nebraska high schools existed were dashed last night. 

Governor Pete Ricketts announced that high schools statewide remain closed – and that extracurricular activities be canceled – through May 31 because of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The NSAA announced last week that its activities were suspended through May 1, which left open a small window of hope that spring sports would be able to compete with a shortened schedule.
