NU Women Go Over Century Mark in Season-Opening Win

The Nebraska women’s basketball club used an explosive and balanced attack in a 108-50 season-opening win over Maine yesterday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The 108-point eruption tied for the ninth-highest point total in school history.  It marked the first time the Huskers have reached the century mark under coach Amy Williams.  The 58-point victory margin matched the seventh largest ever for the program.

Isabelle Bourne led Nebraska with 17 points.  Bella Cravens added 13 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.  Freshman Allison Weidner of Humphrey pitched in nine points, four rebounds and two assists in a strong debut.

The Huskers will host Prairie View A&M tomorrow night.
