NU Women Downed by Terps, Await Postseason Brackets

The upset-minded Nebraska women’s basketball club fell to 7th-ranked Maryland 83-73 in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals yesterday.
Sam Haiby scored 19 of her 24 points in the second half. NU’s All-Big Ten guard reached the 1,000-point mark in her career with a 3-pointer early in the third quarter. But the Terrapins prevailed down the stretch.
The Huskers, now 12-12, will await word on their postseason hopes. The 64-team NCAA Tournament field and the 32-team WNIT bracket will be announced next Monday night.
