Two more Nebraska football players have received preseason recognition nationally. Tight end Austin Allen has been named to the John Mackey Award preseason watch list, while center Cam Jurgens is on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy.
As a sophomore last year, Allen played in all eight games with a career-high seven starts. He also set career highs with 18 receptions and 236 receiving yards, and had one touchdown grab.
Jurgens also started all but one of the Huskers’ games last season. He helped Nebraska’s rushing attack rank second in the Big Ten and its passing offense post the highest completion percentage in school history.
