Nebraska senior Quinton Newsome has been named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.
In the Huskers’ 31-14 win over Purdue, Newsome returned a blocked field goal 68 yards for a third-quarter touchdown. It was the first blocked field goal run back for a touchdown by a Husker since 2014. Newsome is the first special teams honoree from NU since kicker Barret Pickering in November of 2018.
Also on Monday, the Big Ten announced Nebraska’s home game against Maryland next Saturday, November 11 will kick off at 11 a.m.
