Minnesota Rallies from 10-0 Halftime Deficit to Beat Huskers

Nebraska led Minnesota 10-0 at halftime, but the Gophers rallied to down the Huskers 20-13.

With quarterback Casey Thompson out with an injury, the Huskers turned to running back Anthony Grant who ran for 115 yards on 21 carries.  But, NU’s offense lost its momentum in the second and third quarters, going through six straight three-and-outs and an interception.

After the game, interim coach Mickey Joseph was asked if he thought about switching quarterbacks from Chubba Purdy to Logan Smothers earlier.  “We probably should have, but we’d have to throw the ball down the field,” Joseph said.  “But, you can’t go six three-and-outs in this league because they’ll eat the clock up.”

The kickoff for Nebraska’s game at Michigan this Saturday has been set for 2:30 p.m.
