Lemburg Earns Silver, Shevlin Medals at Girls State Wrestling

Lakeview High’s Lacy Lemburg earned a silver medal in the third-ever girls state wrestling meet today.

Lemburg’s second-place finish at 120 pounds was the best of her career.  The Vikings junior topped her fifth-place medal from last year and her bronze medal in 2022.

Columbus High senior Ella May Shevlin earned his first state medal, finishing sixth at 155 pounds.

Schuyler senior Carly Wemhoff, who was fourth two years ago, claimed a sixth-place medal today.  Boone Central sophomore Mishayla Slaymaker took fifth today, one place higher than in 2023.  Three Stanton girls medaled Saturday: Corah Linnaus won a bronze medal, while Micah McGillivray and Rylan Hansen had fourth-place showings.

Lakeview tied for 21st in the team standings and Columbus tied for 50th.
