Lakeview’s Legion Baseball Teams Split at Oakland Craig

Lakeview’s American Legion baseball teams split a pair of games at Oakland Craig last night.

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors cruised to a 10-1 victory in six innings.  Three Lakeview pitchers combined on a one-hitter.  Starter Jordan Kracl went four innings, giving up the lone hit and an unearned run.  Cooper Tessendorf and Sam Kwapnioski each tossed a hitless frame, with both striking out the side.  Lakeview leadoff hitter Adam Van Cleave went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.  Bank of the Valley improved to 6-0.

The Owens Wealth Advisors Junior Reds were edged 6-5.  Oakland Craig scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-3 lead.  The Junior Reds rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh, but came up short and fell to 4-3 on the season.

The Junior Reds will visit Albion tonight, before both Lakeview clubs host Yutan on Friday.
